OUR STORY

Barley Days Brewery takes its name from Prince Edward County's economic boom during the 1800s. At the time, the key crop was barley, which was shipped across Lake Ontario to Oswego, New York for the American Brewing Industry. It was such a lucrative time for County farmers, that some were able to pay off their mortgages in a single season. The 'Barley Days' era came to an end in 1890 when the United States put unreasonably high tariffs on Canadian grain.

Barley Days Brewery has been open since 2007, and is proud to be the oldest craft brewery in Prince Edward County. We continue to brew craft beers to the highest degree of excellence.
